About the Campaign

The safety campaign is designed to promote safe pedestrian and driver behaviors. The STOP and LOOK safety campaign will encourage people to think before they cross busy roads and for drivers to be more aware when they are behind the wheel.

BACK TO BASICS

Pedestrian Safety Tips

  1. Find a safe place to cross, and then STOP.
  2. Stay on the curb and LOOK both ways.
  3. Make sure drivers can see you. BE VISIBLE - WEAR BRIGHT CLOTHING.
  4. Never cross the road when you are on your cell phone or listening to an iPod.
  5. Walk straight across the road. BE PREDICTABLE TO MOTORISTS.
  6. REMEMBER, before you cross the road, STOP and LOOK.
  7. Use sidewalks whenever they are available.

For Drivers

  1. Drive alert and be aware of pedestrians.
  2. Share the Road.
  3. Slow Down - Don't Speed.
